King Koko Foundation Reaches 542 Beneficiaries in Nembe Medical Outreach

The King Koko Foundation Nembe successfully organized a community medical outreach on February 22, 2026, across the Ogbolomabiri and Bassambiri communities in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. Held under the theme “Healing Minds, Building Bridges,” the initiative provided free healthcare services to over 500 residents.

The outreach was designed to improve access to healthcare in riverine communities where preventable and chronic illnesses remain a major concern, particularly among children, pregnant women, and the elderly. Services rendered included medical consultations, dental and eye care, blood pressure checks, malaria and HIV testing, medication distribution, mosquito net distribution, and health education on Lassa fever and maternal health.

According to the report, a total of 542 individuals benefited from the exercise, with females accounting for 52.2% of participants. Malaria emerged as the most common health condition treated, affecting 30.4% of patients, followed by hypertension and respiratory tract infections.

Speaking on the impact of the outreach, organizers noted that the collaboration between the King Koko Foundation and the Bayelsa State Government significantly improved public awareness and access to healthcare services in the community. The initiative also promoted peaceful coexistence and strengthened trust between healthcare providers and residents.

Despite challenges such as limited manpower, funding constraints, and language barriers, the outreach was widely regarded as a success. The Foundation recommended increased funding, more healthcare volunteers, and the provision of interpreters and better medical equipment for future outreaches.
